Incoming shortly is the V.1.0.2.0 update for Automobilista 2 with many additions, fixes and improvements.

The most standout additions are the two new F-Vintage Gen2 series cars — the Brabham BT26A and the legendary Lotus 49C, and new DLC Silverstone Pack featuring 1975, 1991, 2001 and 2020 versions of the legendary circuit.

SMS + Codemasters have revealed the full Car + Track lists for Projects Cars 3.

With many familiar vehicles and tracks carried over from the previous title —the Classic Team Lotus vehicles look identical, and it’s lost Spa-Francorchamps — it’s tricky to pick through and find the fresh additions to this title.

SMS and Codemasters are gearing up for the imminent launch of PCARS3 and we’re starting to see some branding flex in these trailers, with the ‘What Drives You?’ tagline and the prominent use of the Koenigsegg Jesko and Porsche 935 as its’ hero cars.

BTCC / OFFICIAL TITLE ANNOUNCED FOR 2022

Race Department is reporting that Motorsport Games has secured the license for the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) in the last few days.

For those of us that remember the Codemasters TOCA series fondly, this is exciting for sure. The flipside is that Motorsport Games’ other titles such as NASCAR Heat have not been so favourably received – SIRA has not played those so won’t make comment or speculate about the quality of this: another long-awaited BTCC game.

More mixed feelings —mostly good— about the latest PCARS3 teaser video which you can check out below.

Many in the Sim Racing community doubt the ability of this title to deliver a ‘hardcore/real Sim Racing’ experience, and I’d suggest this video clearly shows SMS + Codemasters are fully aware of this. Also imagine for a second that this footage was from new Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsports content, and hopefully the positioning of PCARS3 within the current raft of Racing titles becomes more apparent.

CHRIS HAYE / HOW TO START SIM RACING AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE / 1M VIEWS

SIRA would like to extend a personal congratulations to the inimitable Chris Haye for his most popular video now hitting the 1 million views mark. Chris has brought an incredible level of quality – in both content and presentation – to the Sim Racing community and has no doubt lifted the bar considerably.

One of SIRA’s favourite Youtube Sim Racing personalities (and there are certainly some characters out there) his success is hugely well deserved and long may it continue!

FORZA MOTORSPORT / ANNOUNCE TRAILER / XBOX SERIES X

SIRA is a huge fan of the Forza series – especially 3 and 4 which offered one of the best Console racing experiences in memory: a great range of licensed cars and tracks, incredible engine/onboard sound FX and pretty decent handling.

With the Xbox Games Showcase yesterday, it’s exciting to see this announcement trailer for the next in the FM series (not explicitly titled FM8 you’ll notice); revealing 4K, ray-tracing and a claimed 60fps for the upcoming Xbox Series X consoles. Very exciting indeed, well worth checking out!
